League of Legends: Oceanic Pro League Semi Finals

It’s April Fools day and we’re going to ignore Riot’s Announcement of the New Ultra Rapid Fire (N.U.R.F) mode to focus on some Oceanic Pro League (OPL) details.

After seven weeks of Oceanic tension, the four finalists in the League of Legends: Oceanic Pro League have been revealed!

No, the OPL Semi Finals aren’t going to be decided by a game of Chess, that’s another April Fools joke. What is real though?

The Semi Finals begin tonight.

 

Semi Finals Begin Tonight

Only four teams are left in the competition. The Semi Finals will be held tonight and tomorrow.

The remaining teams: Chiefs, Dire Wolves, Team Immunity and Legacy will battle it out in the Semi Finals starting tonight (April 1-2), for the right to be crowned Oceania’s first professional league champion.

OPL Semi Finals Schedule 1

 

First up tonight at 6pm AEDT is Dire Wolves versus Legacy. Tomorrow at 6pm AEDT, Chiefs will square off against Team Immunity.

The two winning teams will proceed into the finals for a head-to-head best of 5 Final on April 9th to determine who will be the Split 1 Champions and winner of the $16,000 prize.

Oceania’s Split 1 Champions will then fly to Istanbul, Turkey, to challenge heavyweights from Latin America, Russia, Japan, Brazil and Turkey in the International Wild Card Invitational (April 21-25).

The OPL launched in February this year. Over the last 7 weeks, eight teams ‘Down-Under’ have been competing for a share of the $64,000 AUD prize pool, with each player in each team receiving a AU$100 match fee.

 

Oceanic Pro League Finals Schedule:

  • Semi Finals from 6pm, April 1-2
  • Final from 6pm, April 9
