Konami have recently announced that a downloadable demo of the upcoming Metal Gear title, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is due to be released next week on the 23rd of this month on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace.
The demo is said to consist of three stages, allowing gamers to familiarize themselves with the game’s newly introduced Zan-Datsu combat system used as part of Raiden’s new cyborg ninja capabilities, particularly ‘Blade mode’, which allows the player to make precision cuts by bending the blade to their will.
MGRR follows Raiden, hero of previous MGS titles Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as he is now contracted under an agency to protect an African prime minister who is looking for a way of building a better future for his country. However, everything falls apart as the prime minister is attacked by cyborg ninjas that soon turn their attention to Raiden.
As the title states, ‘Revengeance’, the main essence of the story line is to extract revenge on these cyborg ninjas, as well as the people that wronged Raiden, by using his newly enhanced cyborg ninja body and capabilities.
Although this installment carries an MG title, the game is slightly different in ways of its game play: rather than being a stealthy based MG title, this is more of a typical hack and slash, giving gamer’s a much faster gaming experience as well as more freedom to roam.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengance will be released on the 21st of February.
