8 More Games From Ubisoft Digital Days 2013

There’s more to Ubisoft than just Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed games. At Ubisoft Digital Days 2013 they’ve given us a glimpse.

Digital Days

Many tablet and phone games seem to be on the way from Ubisoft if Digital Days 2013 is anything to go by. Along with stand alone titles like Rabbids Big Bang there is some focus on companion apps like Watch Dogs CTOS Mobile. Which lets one player get an overview of the city as they hack Chicago area to help or hinder other players.

Not everything is restricted to mobile, some of these will become available through Xbox and Playstation digital distribution networks.

1. Child of Light

Child of Light

Child of Light is a re-imagining of classic fairy-tales, inviting players on an epic adventure into the magical painted world of Lemuria. Players will uncover mysteries, participate in turn-by-turn combat inspired by classic JRPGs, and explore the mystical kingdom.

Speaking of the inspiration for Child of Light’s overall tone, writer Jeffrey Yohalem says, “When we originally discussed Child of Light we talked about making it a playable poem in every conceivable way and I had to think about it for a while before saying yes because it’s a huge undertaking.”

Child of Light

The game puts players in the shoes of the young fairy adventurer Aurora, a child stolen from her home, who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the mysterious Queen of the Night. Helped by her companion Igniculus the firefly and several unlikely allies, Aurora will face her darkest fears, including dragons and other mystical creatures in this modern take on a coming-of-age story.

There will be a number of puzzles driven around turn-based combat that operates on a timing system, and as such, interrupting enemy attacks at the correct moment is the key to successful battles, along with successfully matching elemental attacks to counter your opponent’s. Igniculus can also help in battle, and can be controlled by a second player.

Child of Light is coming to PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014.
