With all the excitement of Koei Tecmo releasing Hyrule Warriors for the west this September, it may very well be overshadowing other releases on the horizon. Coming September 4th to Australia (meaning TWO releases by Koei Tecmo in the same month) is Warrior Orochi 3 Ultimate.
For those unfamiliar to the titles, Warriors Orochi is a series of games that cross over characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises. So you can expect a whole bunch of over the top hack n’slash fun, similar to their respective series’.
Some of the new features added to Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate have recently been revealed and will include an offline and online playable Gauntlet mode. Here players will take up to 5 warriors to a map to complete missions in real-time either cooperatively or solo.
Another online gameplay option is the new Duel mode where players select a team of three to battle a rival team that can be controlled by other players or the CPU. As well as this, co-operative play has been added to the story campaign and the free-play mode.
To top it all off more characters have been added to the roster. Not only have new Dynasty Warriors, but also a handful of Soul Calibur characters will be gracing the battlefield for the first time! I’m certainly looking forward to tearing through waves of enemies with Sophitia.
