The latest Batman: Arkham Knight trailer shows off Rocksteady’s new mechanic called ‘Dual Play’, which will let you switch between Batman and his allies, similarly to GTA V.
In the trailer, we see Batman, Nightwing, Robin, and Catwoman engaging in seamless, tag team-style combat with Arkham Knight’s many foes.
Several other characters make appearances in the trailer too, including Jim Gordon, Oracle (Barbara Gordon), Two-Face, Scarecrow, Azrael and of course the Arkham Knight.
Other super-villans, not seen in this trailer but confirmed to be in the game are: Penguin, Harley Quinn, Riddler, Firefly, and Poison Ivy.
While we don’t get a look at anything particularly gruesome in terms of blood or broken bones, Arkham Knight’s darker militaristic tone is evident.
We first learned of Arkham Knight’s M-rating, the first ever in the series, back in February, and were provided with some details of the game’s more violent scenes in March.
In this explosive finale, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city that he is sworn to protect, as Scarecrow returns to unite the super criminals of Gotham and destroy the Batman forever.
Batman: Arkham Knight’s release date is still June 23rd for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One; Mac and Linux coming later.
