Do you know what makes you S.P.E.C.I.A.L.?
The latest Fallout 4 trailer gives some insight into the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. It’s part of a series leading up to the launch of Fallout 4 with the first one focused on Strength.
“Today we’ve released the first video in the series, starting, of course, with Strength. If you would like to share this video with your fellow citizens, we’ve included a YouTube embed below. Study these materials carefully to ensure your survival and to discover what makes you S.P.E.C.I.A.L.”
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stands of the attributes in Fallout that impact your skills and abilities. Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck.
Fallout’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system is similar to the key attributes in Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop role-playing games that traditionally have: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma.
Strength is being able to crush a tomato.
Dexterity is being able to dodge a tomato.
Constitution is being able to eat a bad tomato.
Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad.
Charisma is being able to sell a tomato based fruit salad.
Half the charm of the Fallout universe is the humour of their lore and ‘Safety videos’ so we’ll probably see something more exciting than tomatoes.
Fallout 4 is out on November 10 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
