Developer, IO Interactive, has today revealed that the latest iteration in the acclaimed Hitman saga has be unavoidably delayed till early 2016.
Originally slated to make its debut on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 8th, the title was delayed in order to finish more content and features.
“It’s safe to say Hitman is the biggest venture we’ve ever undertaken at Io-Interactive,” the developer explains. “Not just in terms of scope and ambition but also in terms of the size of the game world itself. The playable area and density of our locations goes beyond anything we’ve built before. We’re striving to create a series of living, breathing worlds in those locations and we get pretty obsessed about every detail that you’ll experience.”
For those who are unfamiliar with the franchise, Hitman saw gamers take the reigns of Agent 47, an illicit Hitman tasked with dispatching an array of potent foes, as they traversed the law inundated streets of America, in order to quell their foes, and attain their blood money.
