GEARBOX today has finally revealed the news that many of us have been expecting and waiting to hear for some time now with the official Borderlands 3 announcement trailer which shows that the game may be much closer to completion than one would expect.
The Borderlands 3 announcement trailer runs for a solid four minutes, filled with chaos, characters, a world full of new baddies, weapons, vehicles, explosions, and everything we’ve loved from the previous Borderlands games.
It’s been nearly five long years since we last enjoyed a new Borderlands game in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, and a whopping seven years since Borderlands 2.

MAYHEM IS COMING!
Yesterday, a teaser trailer called “Mask of Mayhem” confirmed that several major figures from the earlier games were returning, including the protagonists from the original game. And it gave us a glimpse at the new quartet of playable characters.
The latest trailer doesn’t give these protagonists names or character classes, but we get to see them in action with new vehicles, powers, and weapons.
There’s also some detail on the villains they’ll be fighting, who are related to something called the “Children of the Vault” — seemingly, in true Borderlands fashion, a cult with a penchant for gladiatorial combat.
The trailer emphasizes saving and exploring “the worlds” in plural, so players might be hopping between more locations than they have in earlier games, which were primarily (but not exclusively) set on the rugged planet of Pandora.
With over a billion guns promised in Borderlands 3 including guns with legs as seen in the trailer, and we’re assuming guns with many other attachments and modifications, the Borderlands 3 announcement trailer has given us plenty of reasons to get excited for a hopeful 2019 release date.
Gearbox has also announced that a free texture upgrade pack is coming out for existing Borderlands games owners on April 3rd. A remastered version of the original game — titled Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition — will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One the same day.
Stay tuned to Non-Fiction Gaming as we bring you all the latest news on Borderlands 3, with an expected news drop on April 4 Australian time.
