PAX Aus 2024 Set to Enchant with Disney Lorcana and a Host of Tabletop Treasures

The tabletop gaming community is in for a treat this October as PAX Aus unveils its largest-ever tabletop area, featuring an enchanting array of activities including the much-awaited Disney Lorcana by Ravensburger. The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will host this grand event from October 11-13, promising an immersive experience for Disney fans, card collectors, and tabletop enthusiasts alike.

Disney Lorcana Takes Centre Stage

Disney Lorcana, presented by Ravensburger and distributed exclusively in Australia and New Zealand by Modern Brands, is set to be a highlight of this year’s PAX Aus. Will Chan, the Sales and Marketing Manager, expressed excitement about introducing Australian fans to this new trading card game (TCG). The game features beloved Disney characters in a magical setting, offering both new players and seasoned collectors a unique gameplay experience.

A Stellar Lineup of Tabletop Giants

Alongside Disney Lorcana, other giants of the tabletop world such as Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons will also grace the event. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Dungeons & Dragons will offer exclusive merchandise and first-time demos of new sets.

Bandai isn’t left behind, as it will host a plethora of activities including learn-to-play sessions, tournaments, and events for their popular trading card games like One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, and Digimon, along with their latest addition, Sand Land.

Special Features and Indie Highlights

Miniature painting enthusiasts will be pleased with the return of the ‘Paint and Take’ event by Let’s Play Games, promising a mediaeval twist this year. Additionally, fans of Star Wars: Unlimited can look forward to acquiring an exclusive ‘Grogu’ event promo card.

The event will also shine a spotlight on indie developers, showcasing six tabletop winners in the PAX Aus Indie Showcase featured in the new PAX Aus Rising section. This recognition marks the largest number of Indie Showcase tabletop winners in the event’s history.

More Than Just Games

PAX Aus is not just about gaming; it’s a celebration of gaming culture. The event will feature an extensive range of activities including a new theatre for tabletop role-playing games (TTRPG), the Owlbear Theatre, and will run One Shot Adventures throughout the weekend.

With three-day badges already sold out and Saturday badges nearly gone, attendees are encouraged to act quickly to secure their spot in what promises to be an unforgettable experience.
