Grand Theft Auto Online is being shown off as a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players. Using gameplay features, geography and mechanics from Grand Theft Auto V,  GTA Online aims to expand and evolve after its launch with new content created by Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto community at large.

Grand Theft Auto Online takes the fundamental Grand Theft Auto concepts of freedom, stealing cars and mission-based gameplay to give a GTA and makes them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.

During GTA Online gameplay, players have the freedom to cruise alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes like deathmatch, all with the anticipated mechanics of GTA V.

Make Some Money

Need to make some fast cash? There’s plenty just lying around in banks, time to mask up. After a sucsesful banks heist, the leader of the group then chooses how to divide the money up between the people involved, so they can split it evenly, pay more to the people who did all the work, rip everyone off and try to run away with the cash, or the gang can choose to mutiny and roll them for the cash.

You can carry as much cash on you as you want at any time, but its risky as when you die you’ll drop a large portion of it, so you need to deposit your money in banks to keep it safe, or invest the cash in property or companies on the stock market.

Customize Your Look

Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats and style.

You can upgrade and customize your car to suit your tastes, but if you crash the car or it gets blown up then it’s gone for good… unless you pay for insurance, in which case it’ll be covered and you can always get it replaced (for a fee).

When you buy an apartment or a house it can be fitted with a security cam so you can buzz people in, meaning you choose who you let in to your place or not. There is speculation that this security measure is incase a posse knows that you have some cool shit and they want to hit your place. This isn’t confirmed, but it sounds cool as shit anyway.

The World

The money you invest in properties or companies will grow or diminish depending on the performance of the investment. You can effect this by, for example, investing in a particular car company, then go around stealing or blowing up any cars of that make you see, forcing the company to start manufacturing more cars and therefore giving them more business – and you more money.

The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.
