Shadow of Mordor The Bright Lord

Well, this made me obsessed with Lord of the Rings all over again for a couple of days. The Bright Lord is set before the time of Talion and the battle for Middle Earth. The game dives into Celebrimbor’s back story and how he takes back the One Ring to, well, rule them all.

The DLC plays very much like the base game whereby you are set a task to revenge your fallen loved ones by killing Orc and dominating (not in a ‘50 Shades of Grey’ way) every enemy you come across.

Honestly, this is the kind of DLC I can really enjoy. The game provides the player with a god mode, whereby you take control of the One Ring to decimate all that stands in your way, including Sauron himself.

It is slightly true that if you are looking for some major improvements to the game play or revolutionary game play changes, this DLC isn’t that, but more of a tie-off to loose ends. A few new tricks have been added and it is really nice, but nothing to write home about. A new challenge One Ring system has been implemented to generate more end game content but it is quite similar to old content.

For the price point of $9.99USD I would recommend the DLC if you are interested in the lore of Lord of the Rings and Celebrimbor. Slicing your way through Mordor as Celebrimbor is fun and a must do for any enthusiast.

Don’t look too long though

The Bright Lord DLC – 7.5 / 10

{rating}

This DLC for Shadow of Mordor is great, though if it were included in the base game, it wouldn’t have gotten the full benefit from the game play, meaning all talents are already unlocked and the amount of time it takes to complete the story really isn’t much at all.

The player will progress through the game to enjoy killing Orcs and punching Sauron in the face a few times.
